MRF supports projects that promote the historical character of Malone. It's important to remove eyesores, but to rebuild what can be saved, especially in the historic character of the village.

Stocking trophy trout annually brings fishermen to Malone and area. A large tract of Catch and Release is found in the Town of Malone.

Malone was labeled
"Star of the North," at the turn of the century because it was the hub on several railroads. From Ottawa and Montreal to New York City and the West, Malone was the center of transportation for Northern NY. It was a rich town, and hundreds worked for the railroads. One could take the train to Montreal, have a nice dinner, see a play, and hop back on the train for home the same day!
Malone boasts two Historic Districts, the Commercial, approved in 2021, and the Residential, 2023. Now we are taking orders for plaques to identify buildings.
To continue Hendrickson Hatch Fly Fishing Tournament, to stock the river, to publicize the beauty of the river, to hold a summer festival.
To hold clean up days, to increase plantings, to maintain and prune existing trees.
To support Complete Streets initiatives, the Malone Chamber of Commerce business community, Foothills Art Society cultural activities, and all organizations as they relate to MRF goals.
