Hendrickson Hatch Fly Fishing Tournament
The first week in June is the popular Fly Fishing Tournament on the Salmon River. Anglers from the Northeast and Canada participate and enjoy trophy trout fishing and the congeniality of Malone.

Neighborhood Revitalization
An effort to improve the aesthetic view of the Village of Malone is encouraged through plantings, benches, decorations and cleanup.
Historic Preservation
Malone's Commercial District is now listed in the NYS Registry of Historic Places. It includes the Main Street business areas and parts of Elm, Pearl and Mill streets. At present MRF is searching for funding to have the historical research done on the residential buildings.
